Last December I bought a 100m string of LED outdoor lights that I draped over all the bushes and a tree in front of our house. Looked great (if I say so myself! 🤣).
They weren't expensive, less than £50.
They stopped working after 3 weeks, so this year I thought I'd invest in better lights, so have been doing my research.
Turns out the VAST majority of outdoor Christmas lights have a waterproof rating of IP44, and won't cope with heavy rain. I assume this was the issue last year.
So, I'm looking for lights with a higher IP rating, but they are expensive- £300-£400 for 100m (which sounds loads but really doesn't go as far as it sounds!).
Such a big gap!
Was I just unlucky last year? Is it worth investing in lights if they'll last 10 years, or should I just take my chances with another cheap IP44 string?
