Braces for kids

Hi all
we are fortunate to have NhS dentist for Our DCs. They have already said our DD 8 will need a brace. They said they will refer her when she is approx 11 and they have said it will be funded on the NHS (which I was surprised about as I thought I would have to pay).

i wanted to ask is there much difference in the provision between NHS orthodontics and private?

My Child (NHS) is treated at the same orthodontist as my friends child (private). The treatment itself appears to be exactly the same, except my friend can book specific after school times for the private treatment. As an NHS patient I can only book appointment times during school hours.

Same as above for my DD pretty much. NHS orthodontist treatment doesn’t include Invisalign just the fixed braces but the treatment is done at a private practice so otherwise the same. The one we used was brilliant.
