What’s happening with DH?

I posted previously about DH who suffered acute stomach pain and was seen at A&E last week. He was prescribed Cocodamol which didn’t help and Buscopan later which helped for few days. Fast forward one week he still has lingering pain, fatigue and feels feverish on and off. He’s able to manage working from home but gets exhausted by evening. GP has referred him for a scan and also a poo test. I’m going crazy with worry as surely a viral gastro bug would’ve sorted itself by now. His blood and urine tests at hospital were fine. I made the mistake of googling and everything points to something sinister. I be grateful for some advice as I have been extremely anxious.

This sounds very like me. Try not to worry until they tell you for definite you have something to worry about although easier said than done I know.

I had a double camera inspection at the end of August (tell him to have all the pain relief offered, it was a breeze with that). They removed a couple of polyps whilst in there which is normal and they said these looked relatively ok (but they would send them off for tests the results took 9 weeks to come through).

After these I went for a coeliac test (I have waited over two weeks for the results to come back and I am still waiting). I am back at the hospital at the end of this month. They don’t think I have cancer but looking at the letter some observations could be pre cancerous.

I am still getting stomach pains but much less severe but I have to be careful what I eat.

Take care

I was also given the same medication as your husband when I was in A&E with severe stomach pains and I have had more of this from my GP and bought some Buscopan for cramping.

Honestly I'm sure it's fine but please push for more tests. Friend of mine was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer after years of being told it was stress & IBS.
