Any candle makers about? I have a wick sticking question

I have a candle that arrived with a broken jar last year & keep meaning to melt it & pour into a new jar.

I'm wondering whether I need to buy the wick stickers I've just been looking at, or if there might be something else I could use? (Google gave me various suggestions but none seem to be amazing).

If I need to buy the stickers I will, just thought it was worth an ask before I do, since it's just the one candle & I was given some wicks by a friend last year.

I just use a bit of the melted wax I'm going to use for the candle in the bottom, put the wick in and hold it down with a toothpick/skewer until it's set and will hold, then pour the rest of the candle a few minutes later.

Does it not melt though when the candle's almost gone?

I'd be more concerned whether you are using the right kind of wick for the diameter of the candle and type of wax.

You shouldn't be burning a container candle right to the end. It's even more of a fire hazard if you do that. You're supposed to extinguish it with about an inch of wax left.

The wick only needs to be stuck to stop it moving when you pour the wax in. I sometimes just pour slowly without a sticker.

Any glue or sticker will be fine.

If you have a tea light you could take it apart and use the metal wick holder from that (could always bung the spare wax in with the candle you're going to melt if you don't want to waste it).

I use a piece of double sided tape always works for me . 🙂

Do you mean to stick the wick back to the bottom of the jar ?

If that's the case no , use a empty/ used night light foil case or similar place the end of the wicked on the foil fill with warm wax and allow to set . Put it in the fridge to set rock hard and very cold .

Place the foil in your heat proof jar , and pour warm ( not hot ) wax to cover it , allow to set then add the rest of the wax

I use a hot glue gun. I found the stickers never worked properly.
