Debris under fridge woe

Random cry for help but what can you use to stop all the crap going under the Fridge/ washing machine/ dishwasher... the gap is too small to clean properly but big enough for the cats to hurl biscuits under . I am sure most people have a way of stopping this and feel I have completely missed a trick . Which wouldn't be the first time !

Bumping as I would love to hear the solution to this! Had a washing machine leak and found rehydrated fossilised cat bix a-plenty underneath Envy - not envy

Ask Mr Google for a “long microfibre duster” & see what comes up.
I use something like this which works very well.

Thatskindafun · 10/11/2022 21:07

Absolutely not idea what the fancy way is
I’m sure someone will be along to tell us my method is stupid and there’s an easy obvious way to manage this

but I just periodically get something really long and thin, like a couple of kebab skewers cellotaped together, wrap them in damp (with anti bac spray) kitchen roll and swoosh around under there
I can usually scoop anything large, and it gathers up dust and crumbs ok.
have also resorted to a coat hanger if I’m struggling to scoop something the dogs shoved under there.

i appreciate these are not Instagram style cleaning tips Blush

Undo & bend an old wire coat hanger sort of like a big hairpin and stretch an old long sock over it and hold at bottom. Dampen slightly & spray with cleaning product of choice or just put detergent and white vinegar on it and swish under/into gaps.

Lakeland used to do a long flat duster. Not sure if they still do.

I’ve got that from Lakeland it’s quite good.

Type in "appliance trolley" or similar into amazon. Stick your fridge on wheels, pull out as needed to clean. At the very least it gives you a bit if access even if you don't wheel it.

Robertwars · 12/11/2022 07:43

Brilliant, I am going to search out a flat duster. The trolleys look great but out of budget just now.

Then I am going to invent a under the fridge bumper that stops the problem and become massively rich 😏
