My DH is an IT Contractor (senior developer) and has been for ten years. For the last 7 years he has held the same contract, they just never wanted to get rid of him. The company have a new head of IT who has come in to cut costs and DH is an easy saving. So for the first time in a very long time he is starting to look for a new contract. There seems to be quite a few out there but he hasn't applied to any yet. We always knew this was a likely scenario and we have 3 months of salary should we need it as well as some small contracts but I still feel very anxious.
Are there any contractors out there who can tell me how the market looks please? It's not knowing anything that I find really hard. Employment boards seem very quiet.
