my little girl is 3 and nursery have told me about an number of incidents that my DD has witnessed and also on one occasion her hair was pulled, but when i ask my DD about this she says it never happened. I dont know why she wont talk to me about whats happening and im really concerned. How can i get her to talk things over with me?

She’s three, she might not be able to express it or she might have already forgotten it.
You can talk generally about certain things or find relevant YouTube videos.

She's 3, she doesn't have the ability to talk to you about such things properly. She probably doesn't even remeber.

PinkButtercups · 09/11/2022 13:12

She might not remember.

There's been a few things that DS (3) hasn't told me.
The only thing he did say that was a little girl hit in in the face with a toy crane. He's said it for weeks. I only found out about the other incidents because I phoned the nursery to ask what happened... 🙄. They don't tell you, your child got hit which is ridiculous.

She won't have the language to process and talk about this.

I'd believe the nursery rather than her lack of comment.

Itsokaymama · 09/11/2022 13:36

Thank you everyone. I definitely believe it happened i was just worried that there could be a reason she didnt want to tell me, but it makes sense she is only young and is probably not seeing it as such a big deal maybe. @PinkButtercups Seems like a very similar situation, i noticed a change in her attitude towards nursery so asked the staff if anything had happened and thats when i found out.

I wouldn't worry, if my daughter falls over or has been poorly she is always in pure denial about it and doesn't want to talk about it.
