Where to take 7yo for a fun birthday day out in Jan?

Please help... I'm really stuck
His birthday is mid Jan.
Last year we did Splash Landings and stayed in the hotel
Year before that we did Warwick Castle and stayed in the Knights Village
This year was hoping to do Harry Potter studios but the next slot which suits our diary and time scales is March and feels a long time away
Does anyone have any recommendations? No more than £250/£300 preferably. He prefers to have an experience as opposed to lots of toys.
We are Midlands based but happy to travel :)

Whichever one of the Gullivers theme parks is near you they are good for that age as there probably won't be anything he cant go on.

We did this for my other sons birthdays last Summer (Matlock) and yes, amazing. Stayed overnight here too. Just trying to do something different each time.
Thank you

Hmmm is there anything at the Bear Grylls adventure place he would like/be old enough for?

If you were planning on the Harry Potter Studio, then hopefully Whipsnade Zoo isn't too far. They do a brilliant sleepover package.

This looks great! But same as Harry Potter - the next available date we can book is showing as end of March :(

A show in the west end? Could make a weekend of it, lots of museums are free and sightseeing doesn’t cost anything so could make it a mini holiday.
or, cinema, bowling, go ape experience?

Take him to Horsey Gap on the Norfolk coast to see the seals. They fill the beaches until the pups are old enough to go in the water. January is the best time.

Very different to a theme park but he'll remember it for ever!
I wish I'd known about it when my lot were children.

Or the Science Museum has space for the astronights sleepover on 13th January.
