Shopping in Venice

I'm going to Venice next week. I'd like suggestions of where to go shopping. I would life half a day shopping maximum so preferably one particular area. I'm looking for clothes and beauty gifts

Venice is pretty small and compact. What will you be shopping for?

The luxury brands and big names are concentrated in the San Marco/Rialto area, which is the main tourist drag really, so you can't miss them. Fondaco dei Tedeschi in this area is a small luxury department store in the same area.

Didn't really need all of that last sentence, doh!

I'm a bit worried my first purchase may have to be wellies 😳

You'll be very close to the main shopping action then! And wellies might be a good idea, though the new flood barriers seem to be doing a decent job. We went the week before the really bad flooding in November 2019 but I don't think it'll get that bad again now (at least I hope not).

Jealous of you, I would go back to Venice like a shot.

I'm going soon too and would quite like to get some Murano glass. Is it best to go to Murano to get this? I just want something small, like a little ornament, nothing large or expensive.
