Is my tshirt salvageable? Ink stain (pic)

Aargh a pen has sneaked into my washing somehow, and left this on my favourite tshirt. I’ve soaked it in vanish stain remover but it’s only spread the stain about a bit.
Does anyone know of any magic tips to get rid of this stain pls? I’m willing to try most things, however batshit, as I bought this in Spain so it can’t be easily replaced (and I love it) 🥲

Ace bleach will remove that. Cup in the wash and off you go.

Mrsjayy · 08/11/2022 14:23

Is it biro if it is spray with hairspray and wash again I think its too big a stain though.

Lilliflip · 08/11/2022 14:23

Even on a pale blue tshirt @BobbyBobbyBobby Will it not bleach the blue out? Excuse my ignorance on this!

The Stain Devil (or any brand) removers for ink are v good.

mamabear715 · 08/11/2022 14:29

I can't imagine my method working, but worth a try.. I don't use any patent products, disappointed in all. I dampen the patch, & drizzle ordinary handwash (soap) on the stain, rub it a little, then leave in a dampened ball for a few hours before rinsing & repeating if necessary, then washing as normal.
But - never tried with ink.. it's worked with mud, chocolate milk, grass, all the annoying ones, though..

I have got ink off of school shirts using hairspray and hand sanitiser but that is a big stain....good luck in whatever you try!

Lilliflip · 08/11/2022 16:39

I’ve just bought some Ace, but the stain has blotted through into the other side too, and in other places. Not too hopeful, but we’ll see!

This has happened to me. Hairspray worked.

Gingernaut · 08/11/2022 16:50

Depending on the ink, cheap vodka

In small measures, dribble and blot the vodka from the least stained side of the T-shirt

With each 'blot' ink should come with the vodka.

Keeping going until it's as light as you can make it and then try a Stain Devil or some other proprietary ink remover, before washing again.

Chloefairydust · 08/11/2022 17:11

If it’s a white t shirt you can use regular bleach, that will definitely get the stain out

BlackeyedGruesome · 08/11/2022 17:33

It'll come out with ordinary soap and cold water as last ngas you don't wash first. but it takes a long time. Soap, soak few minutes rinse, repeat fifty billion times. Got ink out of fleece and those black white board pens they use in school.

Lilliflip · 08/11/2022 17:40

Thanks all!
Unfortunately the Ace hasn’t worked. It’s removed the lesser blobs but not the big one (pic below) Having a try with the vodka now, I might get a stain devil to try too, but tbh I think it’s a lost cause.

Alcohol (drink or hand gel).

NecklessMumster · 08/11/2022 17:42

I've had good results with stain devils, the ink one kind of dissolves it a bit

greenhousegal · 08/11/2022 17:46

Home dye it dark blue/navy. I doubt you will get rid of that ink stain completely.

mamabear715 · 08/11/2022 18:16

Didn't think for a minute that Ace would work. Try my soap fix!

Strongbeatsskinny · 08/11/2022 18:22

Hand sanitizer lots of it and blot it away with kitchen roll it take ages but eventually it’ll come off

Mrsjayy · 08/11/2022 18:25

I m assuming its the alcohol lifting stains I'll keep hand sanitiser in mind.

Scubalubs87 · 08/11/2022 18:29

Hairspray always works for me. Works on clothes and walls!

Lilliflip · 08/11/2022 20:55

Thanks, I’ve had a go with soap now and it’s faded a tiny bit, but I’m afraid it’s still almost as bad as it was @mamabear715
I’ll give the hairspray a go, otherwise dying it black is a brilliant shout @greenhousegal !

Another vote for the appropriate Stain Devil - have had a lot of success with them over the years
