Mattress Recommendations Needed!

Hi all,

We are soon to replace our bed frame and mattress. We have a king sized bed with a moderate budget. Happy to consider anything if it's super amazing but can't pay thousands for a mattress for sure. Can anyone recommend any decent quality mattresses from experience? I have some mild issues with my back and personally cannot have a soft mattress. Needs to be on the more supportive side. Not sure how the tempur or memory foam ones stack up? I know they are fairly costly.

Thanks :)

Travelodge is currently offering 25% off its Travelodge dreamer mattress (the same as used in their hotels). I have one, and like it very much.

My advice is what not to buy. Don't buy an Emma. It's actually very comfortable but almost the day after the 180 night guarantee ends it will sag badly where you lie and create an almost wall between you and your dp.

I’ve got a millbrook handmade mattress. It wasn’t cheap but six years on it’s almost as good as the day I got it it’s wonderful quality and none of that awful
memory foam
i never getting hot or bad back aching limbs etc
you decide the level of firmness or softness

We love our Emma mattress! No sagging here and we've had it three years. Sooo comfy, I miss her when we are apart Grin

We’ve just had our second from JohnRyan by design, they are not cheap and they call you to ask lots of questions about sleeping position / weight to make sure you get the right product - but entirely worth it. Excellent service and mattresses.

I am currently lying on our new mattress and being very very happy about it Smile. I've had latex mattresses for about 30y, and love them. I find memory foam a bit spongy-soggy feeling, but latex supports without wrapping itself around you.

We got this one. We were very reassured by the 15y guarantee, because we find that latex mattress last about 15y.

A few months ago we bought a staples & co mattress from bensons and its so comfy!! I have a bulging disc and with my old memory foam mattress was waking up with serious pain every morning. I'm now pain free!
I'd definitely recommend going into a shop to try some as the ones I considered buying online were actually pretty uncomfortable when we tried them in the shop

As I said on the other thread, we got the Premier Inn Hypnos mattress, if you know someone who works for Whitbread they may get you one with their discount. It's a good middle of the road mattress, after two IKEA mattresses it's feels quality.
