Firstly, apologies as I know this question has been asked so many times.

My partner and I are making a run for it and leaving London. We have a baby on the way. We are going to rent first for a minimum one year before deciding where to buy.

We really want to rent in an area preferably within Wakefield but with an quick easy commute into Leeds City centre by public transport, within 30/40mins ideally.

Good nursery options for when I ho back to work.

A decent high street with supermarkets and amenities restaurants and cafés.

Community feel, mum and baby groups, park etc with preferably a decent leisure centre or one within a commutable distance.

I don't have a car so Uber accessible if required.

Not much on that list really, 🙈🙈 😂😂

I appreciate I may not be able to tick every box but the main ones would be good.

Trying to narrow down the search.

Thank you all in advance 🙂

The middle of Wakefield is really run down these days. I would take advice on recommendations for Leeds.

Agree on Farsley and Morley.

I grew up in Birstall and have friends there I visit regularly, I think It's still quite nice. Good buses to Leeds or 20 mins or less drive.

I live in Woodlesford & love it! it's got a train station, is close to the motorway network. The primary school is really good & there's a high school near by. Plus it's close to the canal & countryside which is brilliant for walks. The village has a real community vibe.
