I don’t want the IKEA one because it’s not magnetic. Anyone got the early learning one?

We have one from kidly which is magnets on one side and a chalk board on the other. DS loves it - he's not a great one for painting but it comes with letter magnets which he loves to organise and we got him some other magnets too and he can spend hours playing with it.

None. Chalk dust is the WORST. And my kids never played with it. It is physically hard for them to write on an upright surface; they preferred scribbling and 'writing' on paper.

I would suggest a magnetic pad (the one you write on with a magnetic pen, then 'wipe' free) instead.

Also, easels take a lot of space

Juicylychee · 07/11/2022 22:09

Space isn’t a problem!

We have chalkboard markers rather than chalk. Much less mess!

I’m not so worried about space and mess, I was looking for tried and tested brand recommendations.

We have one from Jaques, it's pretty good although the protective film on the whiteboard side was a right bugger to get off, and left a bit of a raggedy bit at the edge.

Hobbycraft have some (think I'm getting one for DD for Christmas) and Aldi have them but not sure whether the Aldi ones are magnetic

I just bought a wooden one from aldi yesterday. Chalkboard one side, magnetic white board other side. Also has a paper roll holder.

Thank you!
