Have you ever started a new job that you over bluffed your experience but ended up loving it?

Just this really. I've applied for a job I have no experience in and just wondering if anyone else has taken a leap of faith and it's worked out favourably for them

When you say ‘over bluffed’ do you mean you lied to them? If so, that’s not a great start, because it will become apparent pretty quickly that what you’ve said is untrue. Which will make you look like a liar.

If you just mean going for something new - that often turns out well! Just need to put your head into picking it all up and be aware you won’t be on top of it all right away.

All men always

I can't say they've ended up loving it always, but in my profession, generally speaking, men take the leap of faith and mostly succeed. Women worry that they don't meet every criteria of the person spec, so don't bother applying for the job.

@Kanaloa oh no I don't mean lie, but maybe over exaggerate things slightly if that makes sense?

That's a lie

I'm applying for a Big Job right now that I've never done before. I'm qualified in an adjacent field and am extremely keen (perhaps too keen!) but I've been honest about what I've done.

I'm 40 and I thought, fuck it - why not just apply, you never know.

Best of luck with it. Don't lie though, you'll get caught and you will feel like a muppet.
