How long to give them before I panic?

Had a bathroom installation booked for the 17th Oct, cancelled and moved to today 7th Nov.
no sign of anyone and tried calling but it's on answer phone.
chat bot has me in a queue since 8.
Guess what? They were paid at time of order (big national company) £12k.

I'm sweating bullets here.

I wouldn't trust a bot is there any phone numbers at all? Even for a sales department?

Teadrinkingmumofone · 07/11/2022 09:43

Was it confirmed by them for today? For what time?

Meltingsocks · 07/11/2022 10:06

When this happened to us we went to their nearest physical office to demand answers, can you do that?

Did you pay by credit card?

BobbyBobbyBobby · 07/11/2022 10:12

Most likely to be an admin cock up when you cancelled and someone has rebooked the wrong date.

Threadkillacilla · 07/11/2022 10:13

Paid by visa, that was the deciding factor that they accepted visa.
They are an internet company, no shops.
just rang the sales line but they've said they'll send an internal email...
email says 7-8am today.

ducks sake.

Do you mean Visa credit card or debit, because your rights are different if something has gone seriously wrong.

Hopefully there's been a cock-up of some description and all is well.

ChristmasAtHogwarts · 07/11/2022 10:42

What company is it op?

Threadkillacilla · 07/11/2022 10:45

Visa credit. We had a nightmare getting someone to do it because we need some mobility adaptation doing hence the high pricd.
After so many bad omens I thought I may need the extra protection!

Ask me after they've done it @ChristmasAtHogwarts I daren't piss them off until it's done Grin

Has he turned up yet?!

Haribosweets · 07/11/2022 14:58

On a chat bot try putting 'Can I speak with a real person' and you usually get someone real!

Threadkillacilla · 07/11/2022 17:12

Pfft.
turned up at 12.50 spent an hour checking inventory, disconnected the sink and shower, took some calls and spent time explaining that it'd take longer than two weeks, he will only be here half day tomorrow and he doesn't want to start early because he likes to help his Mrs with the kids in the morning!
because they delayed last install date with three days notice I've used up my annual leave already.

this is going to be torture I can feel it.

Oh god that sounds a nightmare. Why is everything like this always more difficult than it really should be?! We had similar with a partial kitchen refit. One drama after another

That’s not your problem, he needs to take that up with his manager/the company.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 07/11/2022 17:56

Christ name and shame OP, that’s awful!

This does sound like a pain in the arse......but.... when I read your first post I really thought you'd been ripped off and it'd be a no show. It totally isn't. X

Threadkillacilla · 07/11/2022 18:15

Honestly @clarepetal I've got such a bad feeling I'm mentally prepared for this ending up in court. Anything less than that I'm counting as a win!

it's a straightforward job with a few extra handles, a shower seat and one extra tap. Obviously any adaptations cost extra but this is a basic bathroom nothing extravagant. We've had so many quotes and timewasters letting us down it's been over a year since we started.
