Spending App help

Can anyone point me in the right direction of what I'm looking for. I want some sort of tracker on my phone to help me keep on top of some "fixed" pots of money.

I'm not looking for an app that links to my account or tracks habits and helps with savings goals.

I've just separated some money into smaller pots (in my head) and I want to keep track of them.
So let's say I've got £1000 and I want to divide it into five pots of £200 each.
One is for Christmas and every time I spend on a gift I went to take it out of that Christmas pot.

Does that make sense? It's more like excel I need than a fancy app you pay for but I can't use excel on my phone. Drives me mad. Can anyone help?

Plum does this

But I think it links to your account so you can see how much money you have in each pot.

Could you look at getting a monzo account?

Monzo. It's absolutely brilliant

It's not exactly a separate bank account, it's like a preloaded approach. You can move money from your main current account into Monzo, and then set up however many pots you want for Christmas etc, and sort your moved money into the pots. You can also set it so that it does this automatically based on a set frequency. You can access pot money whenever you need to, or 'lock' a pot until a set date if you prefer. You get a debit card so your expenditure is straight from the Monzo account too.

Thank you. I don't actually want to physically move the money around or link it to an account. I think it's a maths app I need not a spending tracker. I just want to be able to input sums of money when I spend them and know how much is left in that pot. I can't really explain what I mean but I'm not looking to set up any actual accounts. Is there a simpler version of excel for iPhone?

You could do that with excel by putting a formula?

onedayatatime73 · 07/11/2022 09:59

I'm just useless with excel. Can't get on with it at all. I just want something that's really simple. So different spreadsheets really. Think i might just have to write it out in notes and add it up each time. Infuriating because feels like there must be a really simple way of doing what I'm trying to do without the need for formulas etc!

There is an app called ‘spending tracker ‘ that should do this for you just as you describe.
