My nearly 5 year old has night terrors. His siblings both had them, but there’s was very typical night terrors and they would wake u once taken to the toilet and be fine.
wirh my DS he gets angry, will shout at me, hit me, ask for stuff that doesn’t make sense etc then start screaming as I don’t understand him. It’s not every night but I’m exhausted, anyone else child had similar?

Yes, he was suffering from sleep apnoea and once that had been treated (tonsils & adenoids removed) they stopped. They came back and it turned out he had sleep apnoea again so his adenoids were removed again and he's been fine since!

I have thought about adenoids before, how did you get the doctor to look into it? Thanks

Iv been to our GP today for the same thing, my boy is 6. On the neurodevelopmental waiting list and has been referred to cahms. Our GP said to contact school nurse, which I have done & cahms have said to speak to ND about it.
i dread night time so much, it’s hard enough putting him to bed and getting him to sleep without the 1am terrors!
anyone experienced anything similar and what the outcome was? X

My daughter is 4 starting school in September we have started to experience these night terrors if that’s what they actually are .. she gose to bed fine no later than 8 n then wakes up so angry crying but hardly any tears kicking throwing her arms and legs about can hear me but will say random stuff too. The Easter bunny took her dummy off her 8 days ago now am wondering if that is anything to do with it. It’s just not nice to see her like that plus the poor neighbours .. I just don’t what’s best to do for her any help and advice would be huge for me !!
