Anyone bought a grown up advent calendar this year?

Was thinking about getting an advent calendar for myself this year as a treat for myself for Christmas, and probably another one for my partner too (so suitable for a man).

Theres loads on the market, beauty/ skincare ones, drink ones, I even saw one in George the other day with Christmas pants in, 😂…

Im a little overwhelmed with the amount of grown up advent calendars out there, so wonder if anyone has any recommendations?

Im looking for something that’s good value for money, as in I don’t want to spend more than the products are actually worth to buy separate. Also please warn me of any that you know of which are completely crap and that I should avoid.

You should totally treat yourself!😁 @Lovelydovey

I don’t often treat myself to expensive things but always make a point of buying myself a present for my birthday lol , I have never bought myself an advent calendar before but I thought why not, it’s kind of like a Christmas present for yourself isn’t it? 😂

The beauty ones all look interesting, I like the look of the M&S one but I think I’m going to get the earrings calendar for myself.🤔

I’ve gone for a fine wine one for £150. A bit spendy but glass sized portions & looks great.

I might get the M&S beauty one too.

We released our first stationery advent calendar this year and were delighted by how well it sold - I'm now debating the cultpens one for myself as a treat, because apparently even running a stationery subscription box doesn't result in me having enough sodding stationery and pens and pretty inks to play with 😂

I’ve got a Lindt ball one with 24 different flavours! I thought I’d appreciate them more if I ate one a day rather than my usual all in one go!

Got my eye on the Healeys Cornish Rattler cider Advent calender. 24 mixed bottles.

Can you give us a link if there’s any left?

We like the Gibsons jigsaw puzzle advent calendar - a mini jigsaw each day gibsonsgames.co.uk/products/christmas-adventures-advent-calendar-jigsaw-puzzle

I've got the Nuxe one

I absolutely love Nuxe

LunaCrystal · 05/11/2022 20:50

DH has a Lego Star Wars one this year

This year I have the Naked Marshmallow one

The earring one looks nice, I may get that one too.

We do tend to enjoy sock ones also, so useful

lanbro · 05/11/2022 21:00

DM buys my sis and I a No7 one each year, I do actually use about 90% of the things so they're quite good value

FourTeaFallOut · 05/11/2022 21:08

I like the look of the sock shop one but I really don't need 24 pairs of new socks, or do I?

Oldraver · 05/11/2022 21:14

We've gone for the Chocolate one again. Had a Hotel Chocolat one before which was nice

totallyaddictedtocheese · 05/11/2022 21:15

I've bought the M&S one. I haven't received it yet but it looks good! I'll be opening it all at once though rather than one a day 😅

QueefofSheena · 05/11/2022 21:22

I’ve resisted beauty ones for myself this year as I’ve got so much stuff left from previous ones. I did get DS1(24) an anglers calendar full of rigs and other bits, and DS2 (16) a Marvel sock one in adult sizes. DH just rolls his eyes at the thought of AC so I don’t bother getting him one.

CurleyMango · 05/11/2022 21:24

I’ve gone for m and s for dd, my protien for ds and a dropper one for dh. Should be fun.

Nimblesandbimbles · 05/11/2022 21:28

Has anyone had the L’occitane one? Thinking about getting it for my mum. Like the Teapigs idea too.

Thorilicious · 05/11/2022 22:04

I've got this arriving any day now!

I ordered the earrings one for myself and a cheese one for the BF, a jam one for my mum (Because I just know she will love it!) and then I did a bit of Christmas shopping buying people presents from M&S and so was tempted and bought the M&S one as I was spending over £30 there anyway so thought why not lol. The M&S one I will open all the boxes straight away and any items I won’t use I will use for Christmas presents 😁 … The earrings one I will open a box a day during December and that will be my official advent calendar, I love how you can pick the earrings so I know I will love them all!😆

Im so Excited about my advent calendars, I feel like a kid again! 🤣

Ohh! Yes of course, if mnhq don't mind :)

And also massively recommend the cultpens ones if you're a stationery fiend 😁

hilariousnamehere · 07/11/2022 20:31

That was supposed to quote @DenbyChina's request, not me randomly spamming, but it's been a long day and I have sausage fingers 😂

JennyForeigner · 07/11/2022 20:32

The Pact coffee advent calendar is a real treat - becoming a staple for us.

Reallycomplicatedpants · 08/11/2022 07:58

I've got the M&S beauty one coming any day. I've ordered one before and was very impressed with the products.

IfIGoThereWillBeTrouble · 08/11/2022 10:34

I’m not going to buy myself any kind of advent calendar, but if I had a spare £65 I’d buy the Liz Earle one. £165 of products for £65.
On a totally unrelated note, can anyone lend me £65? 😂

Autumnnewname · 08/11/2022 11:07

I like Arran but usually buy in December when it's cheaper

Lots of gorgeous shower gels and hair bits
