Download Festival - anyone going?

I got tickets on Monday. I went for a day about 15 years ago but we're camping for 4 nights this time. I'm disabled so applying for the access camping. Not sure when the list opens!

Any predictions on lineup? I've seen the leak and will be disappointed if Metallica headline 2 nights

Nope but I used to go loads when in my twenties, enjoy! It’s so much friendlier than Reading, I love metallers 🤟

I don't think I am brave enough for Leeds or Reading! The tiktoks from last year were scary!

I am really looking forward to learning the lineup

We're going - we've got early bird tickets and a hotel but will try and get a campervan ticket. We were there this year and have been in the past, it's good fun and a bit of an older crowd so nothing like Reading/Leeds.

We were supposed to be at Reading to see RATM but they pulled out so we decided against 🤷🏼‍♀️

Where do you stop in a hotel? I bet I've missed that boat!

Just seen the line up - as much as I love Metallica the rest of it seems a bit meh, especially for a 20th anniversary. Went this year but not sure yet whether to go next.

CMOTDibbler · 08/11/2022 07:57

We were planning on going, but apart from Metallica (and we couldn't be there Thursday night as ds is in school) the lineup doesn't do anything for me. Really disappointed tbh

Usernamesarenoteasy · 08/11/2022 08:15

I'll be going, in campervan field as usual. This will be my 11th year, but also possibly my last due to the costs of it. Can do many smaller festivals for the same price as download.

There is a facebook group specifically for access camping, if you join that they'll be able to answer any questions you might have about it.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 08/11/2022 08:22

I'll have a look at the FB access group. I'm pretty chuffed with the lineup, apart from having Metallica twice. I think that's a bit shit. They sold the festival as 4 headliners and we only have 3. I think they'll bring someone else on on the Saturday personally

Hi! Resurrection of this old thread in an attempt to find rocker pals in Scotland for metal gigs... I'm an old gimmer but I'm desperate to get out moshing again as I just love loud rock music - Maiden/Metallica/Megadeth and the like - for stress relief and fun... Anybody up N interested in teaming up?
