So I really wanted Lewis capaldi tickets but couldn’t get them at first!

had a few drinks last night and ended up ordering just one to see Lewis capaldi in January!

I’m so scared to go on my own! I’ve never done anything like this before by myself and I am petrified and I don’t think I can actually do it hahah!

I’ve sat on my own at concerts , it doesn’t bother me in the slightest

embarrassed12 · 05/11/2022 12:16

@Floralnomad i suppose once I’m there I’ll be ok it’s just the thought of it is making me feel sick! I’m just so scared

Sure you can !

I went to see Madonna in concert on my own in 1990. Concert was good. I got there and back with no problems.

It's very freeing. You can get a drink or snacks at the venue or before and/or after without constantly having to tell the other person/s where you're going.

Go for it. It's got to be better than being stuck with a partner or friends that just want to be awkward !

ofwarren · 05/11/2022 12:17

I've done it loads of times!
You will be fine, honestly

purplecorkheart · 05/11/2022 12:22

I have done it plenty of times and mainly at venues far from home.

To make it a bit easier I plan how I am going to get there and book transport in advance. I book my accommodation. I also research what eat/drink options are nearby. I get to the venue as soon as the doors open and find my seat. Then you can wander around and take in the atmosphere (also I find the loo).

Floralnomad · 05/11/2022 12:28

It’s fine , buy a drink find your seat and sit and look busy on your phone until the music starts .

I’ve booked to go see a band on my own for the first time as DH doesn’t like them. I was getting sick of missing out on seeing this band so went for it!

Slightly nervous as it’s a far away venue but I’m going to make a little mini break of it for the weekend.

Branleuse · 05/11/2022 12:30

It will be a revelation for you. Doing things alone is very freeing, and empowering

Whatsinanamereally82 · 05/11/2022 12:32

I prefer doing things on my own sometimes. You can do everything on your own timeline.

Bonjovispjs · 05/11/2022 12:35

I really wanted to see Mika in concert in July, but didn't have the confidence to go alone, I regret it now, looked absolutely amazing, I'll definitely go next time no matter what.

Coraline353 · 05/11/2022 12:41

I've done it too. Big gigs at the London O2 and small gigs in Dublin venues. Love it. And often end up chatting to people anyway. I was adopted by a group I was standing near at Pearl Jam a few years ago.

Rockbird · 05/11/2022 12:46

I go on my own all the time. Far better than dragging someone who isn't a fan and keeps pestering you throughout. There's always people around to talk to if you want. Concert goers are friendly sorts!

Figgygal · 05/11/2022 12:50

What's worrying you?
I've done it at small venue gigs and big ones. I've even gone to gigs with others but had to sit separately as couldn't get seats together
Noone is pointing at you or caring what you're doing

Hbh17 · 05/11/2022 12:50

What are you scared of, exactly? Doing things alone is a great joy, because you don't have to accommodate anybody else's wishes, and can just concentrate on what you want to do. You like this singer, therefore you will enjoy yourself - job done.

thereisonlyoneofme · 05/11/2022 15:23

Ive been to the Royal Albert Hall on my own umpteen times, no one takes any notice of you . Go

CookPassBabtridge · 05/11/2022 15:24

I love solo outings! Equally love having company.
Gigs alone are amazing, you just absorb the music instead of chatting.

Thisonetoday · 05/11/2022 15:26

I went to my first alone concert a few years again, I was so nervous beforehand but I loved it! You’ll have a fab time and feel proud of yourself afterwards 😁

CuriousMama · 05/11/2022 15:27

Fantastic. Do it and message us when you do to tell us how much you're enjoying yourself.

VashtaNarada · 05/11/2022 15:28

Fantastic! It's actually freeing and a bit of a game changer once you've done it once!

OhFFS! · 05/11/2022 15:43

I've done it too. It's fine. Once the concert starts, you won't even notice
