What's going on with my clothes sizes??

So I've had a baby a couple of months ago, and thought I'd update my wardrobe a bit. Ordered a few Aline skirts off Vinted in size 14 (my usual size, same as I was pre-pregnancy. And my usual pre-pregnancy size 14 clothes still fit fine)

However these new skirts - none of them fit??? What's going on?? They were from shops like F&F, Next, Papaya etc, same as my usual clothes.

Do I try to order again in size 16/ or 18? I can't figure out why my usual sized clothes fit fine but these ones don't. I don't think my body has changed that much after birth, this is my second baby.

I wonder does anyone know what width waist it would be for 14/16/18 so I could attempt to order new items
Thank you.

Sizes are fucked. I bought skirts in size 10,12 and 14 last weekend on a spree and they all fit. Different shops but so bloody annoying to have to take all 3 sizes in the changing rooms.

Sizes are all wrong. I've just bought a new pair of trousers for work. Size 14! Yet I still fit the old (but worn) size 10 trousers and other jeans I can't understand how places have changed their sizing so radically

Ahhh so it's not just me then. Ok that actually helps. Thank you.

Will maybe see to reorder in a larger size, and will go from there.

I've given up with sizes and go with what fits or try to find the measurements for the brand.

Have your hips widened though? Mine did after both dc, dd2 more so. Not fat, just from my pelvis widening. Took at least six months to move back

How old are these clothes? As a teen I was a 14, 20 years and 3 + children later I am still 14 but weigh 2 stone more, ummm…..

So many places don’t have changing rooms any more and it’s a pain to send or take stuff back. You can’t even rely on the size in different garments in the same shop.

At least you can fit in your old clothes! I gave birth 6 months ago and I’m at least 2 sizes bigger than I was pre-pregnancy. I don’t have the cash to buy new clothes for now, so I’m still wearing pregnancy leggings and jeans, its very unflattering 🙄

But yes, the times I have optimistically tried things on in the shops, none of the sizes made any sense whatsoever
