Lice!! (Be warned please: TMI)

Both kids have had head lice but are better with treatment. I've got head lice as well but the treatment hasn't made much difference, I think.

Anyway, I've got a more embarrassing problem that I need help with and I don't want to discuss it with the pharmacist or GP.

For about a week or so my privates have been very itchy. They feel sore and itchy. mostly the pubic area. Everywhere I read that head lice can't affect your pubic hair. There are pubic lice but they are completely different and got nothing to do with head lice. What a coincidence would it be to have both at the same time!! Anyway I'm not sure what to do about it. I don't want to use the solution in case it goes inside my vagina. I should probably just use a nit comb but I'm not sure that will be enough.

Has anyone experienced this? Any idea how to deal with this or of I can use the standard lice treatment solutions like permethrin?

Are you sure that’s the issue though? As you have read head lice and pubic lice are different, in as much as you catch catch pubic lice from the lice on your head.

It's not lice, and you'd see them surely? If it's been a week you need to see your GP.

Shave, wax or use a cream to remove all the hair down below and then see what you are dealing with.

If it’s pubic lice you have to treat all the hair on the entire body. You can’t shave everything.

Check NHS site OP and go from there.

I thought of shaving but even shaving doesn't get rid of all the hair. I mean what about hair that's more inside the vulva?

So pubic lice can affect every area of your body? Is it possible then that we've all had pubic lice rather than head lice.

Uggh...why can't I just get a cold like normal people???
