The website kept crashing and I began to lose my mind and kept trying diff options. In the end managed a 1 luxury Bell tent camping for 3 and 3 teen tent next door as an option that finally went though.

N9w panicking as kids are 16, 12 & 11. Will they let us in with that configuration???

Got an extra bed space too by mistake as well. Took me an hour an 15 to do and now also haven't secured actual festival tix, but will keep trying those. So expensive could cry!

Why the heck don’t you just tell them that it will be one adult in each tent?

the configuration you tell them needn’t actually be the configuration when it comes to bedtime!

Can you put adults in teen tents though? Our configuration just doesn't add up. 3 adults (16 classed as adult i now realise) and 2 kids

Got the festival tix thank god, which include camping as obligatory so may abadon them there (joke)

Will you have to bring passports or birth certificates?! Otherwise … just fib if asked!

I doubt anyone will care. If you are asked just say you are putting an adult in with the kids. They are far more bothered about not admitting unaccompanied teenagers who get into all sorts of bother.

youlightupmyday · 04/11/2022 11:23

Thanks both.

Good all OK, perhaps now buy suncream before it goes up in price.

Wise words. Hopefully, not waterproofs!

If it makes you feel better, we have been going for over 10 years and have never needed our wellies! Suffolk is mostly dry that time of year.

Thinking of buying family camping tickets for next year - is there a size restriction on tents in family camping area? Our tent is quite big as there are 5 of us. Kids will be 11, 9 and 7 - good family activities for them? Thanks!

There seems to be loads for the kids, which is why we chose it. Friends gave rave reports.
From.previous festival days you take whatever tent you want, no restrictions! But others can confirm that.

That does, thank you! First festival.with my kids and I really want to start a tradition! I loved them in my 20s. We are expats at the moment so not completely familiar with all recent years July weather! Not that we really care 😄

Does it follow the same sort of map every year? How far away roughly is family camping from Luxury camping?

Map is pretty much the same year to year. I have no idea on distances sorry, as we bring our motorhome. But you can bring as much gear as you can lug from the car park. IMO Latitude is the John Lewis of festivals, not particularly edgy but pretty safe, clean and fun for all ages.

I’ve been to Latitude twice in the family camping with children aged 4 - 11.
I would say that the ‘childrens field’ is pretty good and one of the people working there said it was one of the largest on the festival circuit. However I would say most stuff there aimed at the younger age range of children - lots of craft / circus skills. Older kids did like the bush craft area in the woods - making fires etc. Lake swimming was a big hit but you have to be able to swim. (You can’t stand up in the lake)
Main arena has a good seating area at the back if you want more of a sedate way of watching bands.
The site is huge - lots of people with younger children have those festival trolleys even for kids that might not usually use a buggy.
Comedy area sometimes has age restrictions due to material.
Both years I personally didn’t see any trouble anywhere.
family campsite is lovely with good toilets … we had to use the teen area toilets once .. 😮
Havent got experience out of the family area but happy to answer questions if I can.
Tent size wise - if you have a big tent you need to get there early ….
it’s not a reserved camping area and people pitch in spaces you couldn’t imagine fitting anything ….
if you are not used to festival camping it can be disconcerting having all the tents so haphazarded …

Haha, sorry OP, I have no advice, I thought this was literally about latitude #geodesisttotherescue
