😂😂 literally came on to post the same!

christmas2022 · 04/11/2022 13:03

Who's buying? Is this a good deal?

I'm still undecided on these.

I won't be, as I brought the CostCo Sur la table one a month or so ago - which I use nearly every day.

Looks very similar to our Daewoo 8L double drawer one which is great. We use it most days.

Hugasauras · 04/11/2022 14:24

And ours was £130 so £90 is pretty decent!

Bumzoo · 04/11/2022 14:59

It's too small I think

8l is pretty standard.
The costco one I mentioned is 7.6l (2 x 3.8l), as is one of the ninjas I think although they also do a bigger one.

I'm not that impressed with some of the Lidl/Aldi electrical dupes tbh.
Not had good experience with some of them and probably should have bought the real deal !

BuffaloCauliflower · 04/11/2022 17:55

@Chasingsquirrels is the Costco one good? Is it big enough for family cooking?

Hugasauras · 04/11/2022 17:57

Our 8L one would do a family of 4. We use it for 3 of us now and there's plenty of room to do meat in one drawer and veg/sides in the other.

Chasingsquirrels · 04/11/2022 18:05

Costco one:

  • It's now £110 I think (I paid £100 a few weeks ago).
  • You have to have both drawers in to be able to use it, presumably a safety feature but can be annoying at times. Someone mentioned on another thread that the ninja doesn't have this and you can use 1 without the other being in the machine. No idea about other models.
  • Mostly it's just ds2 & I at home now, so only cooking for 1 or 2. DP is here at the weekends, but then ds2 is at his dad's half the weekend.
  • The controls can be a bit annoying, there are 7 or 8 preset programmes and then you can up or down the temp and time. It would probably be easier just to set the temp and time like on a microwave.

Overall I'm very pleased I got it, but I haven't used any other models sp can't compare.

I’ve got a ninja. I’m betting this is very similar.
I use mine frequently, most days tbh. You can buy racks to fit inside cheaply from Amazon which doubles your cooking space.

Click on specialbuys, and scroll down to online leaflet. It’s listed in there, preorder from Sunday (usually opens 8am) and then will be in the stores next week.

What do people love about air fryers?

Are they super cheap to run?

Are they easy to clean?

It's quite big and I don't have cupboard space so it will sit on the kitchen side. This is putting me off. What do others do?

Latenightreader · 05/11/2022 06:56

My mum bought one and I was really sceptical but it is great. Very easy to clean, cooks very well even if you don’t use oil, and more versatile than I expected. We rarely have the oven on these days!

InFiveMins · 05/11/2022 07:07

@christmas2022

I love mine because whatever I make in it cooks really quickly and tastes nicer (in my opinion). Heats up within 1-2 mins max so no waiting around for oven to preheat.

They are cheap to run. Takes me about 1 min to clean. The main reason I bought it was because I was sick of cleaning the oven! I haven't had my oven on since I got the airfryer.

I put a cover on top of my hob and keep it on there. If I need to use the hob at the same time then obviously I move it, but I feel it takes up less space if it's on top of my hob.

MrsCarson · 05/11/2022 17:55

I'm tempted.

StephanieA · 06/11/2022 00:27

I mainly use my oven for pizza - is there a way pizza can be cooked in the air fryer please

MrsCarson · 06/11/2022 10:27

I just went onto the Aldi website. Thinking about that air fryer I'm in a bloody queue, I'm number 185,000 in line. Guess I'm not getting one.

Me too. Got through and it’s sold out (in the shop later this week). Has a lot of one star reviews all stating people virtually queued for hours and didn’t get one😔

Homemade or frozen? DH eats frozen pizzas quite a lot and he just breaks them in half and does a half in each drawer!
