Not maternal/broody but still had kids?

Just a question for parents really: if you were someone who never felt broody/maternal (or paternal!), what made you decide to actually go for it and have kids? Why did you take the plunge?

I’m 99% sure I want kids but cannot imagine being someone’s mum?

Sorry you got no replies. I was never super broody but more as a way to pritect my heart in case it didn't happen. But I loved my nieces so much. I decided to have kids only when I met guys I could see raising them with. With my husband, I couldn't imagine not having kids with him and I went from being nonplussed to really wanting kids. We have one and it's the best choice I ever made but kids are tough and require you to sacrifice a lot of yourself (my view of course).
