Is so BIASED. Every time a labour MP talks she interrupts. She is so obviously biased and completely annoying. I can’t stand this programme anymore.

It upsets me to say so, but yes. She has ruined QT. Her bias is outrageous and should not be allowed.

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/11/2022 23:29

She’s fucking awful. But look who she’s married to.

Rummikub · 03/11/2022 23:29

I’m watching her interrupt the Tory MP too.

I do love George the poet. Very articulate and measured.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 03/11/2022 23:39

She's there to facilitate the discussion and make sure they all get a fair chance to speak, but she constantly chips in with her own views and talks across them. She's really awful, wish they'd get someone else.

Absolutely this.

Cynderella · 03/11/2022 23:44

People have been complaining about her since she got the job - I don't understand why she is still there. There are so many people who could do it better.

Iamthewombat · 03/11/2022 23:46

I was waiting for her to stop Stuart Rose from windbagging, but no!

ChevreChase · 03/11/2022 23:50

As well as the bias, she doesn't seem to have any Chairing skills. As Iamthewombat says, she sometimes just sits there as if she's forgotten that her role is to take control of the panellists. When Victoria Derbyshire covers, she does a much better job.

Wombat100 · 03/11/2022 23:52

I agree, she’s awful at chairing the debate. Surely she’s meant to be neutral and keep her opinions out of it? She should stick to newsreading which I actually think she’s good at!

Delectable · 03/11/2022 23:56

Same. I even went to a live one with Dimbleby but don't watch Fiona Bruce at all.

UWhatNow · 03/11/2022 23:59

Me too. She freely allowed him to interrupt a (far more articulate) female guest to carry on his pompous male viewpoint. Where is Jackie Weaver when you need her?

SwedishEdith · 04/11/2022 00:02

She's a lightweight. She should just stick to trilling along on the Antiques Roadshow now. Victoria Derbyshire is settling in on Newsnight so happy if she stays there. Emily Maitlis would have been a great QT chair but not going to happen now. Emma Barnett maybe, one day.

T42and24T · 04/11/2022 00:09

She totally ignored the question about children living in poverty :(

Booklover3 · 04/11/2022 00:14

Can’t stand her. I rarely watch it anymore. I also went to one when Dimbleby presented and he was lovely.

Christ no, VD is appalling on Newsnight. She’d interrupt herself if she could.

ChevreChase · 04/11/2022 00:21

VioletTopaz I don't think she's as well suited to Newsnight, but she does the occasional QT when Bruce is off, and she's good at it.

PrincessofWellies · 04/11/2022 00:25

Eddie Mair for QT . . .

VioletTopaz · 04/11/2022 00:27

I’m possibly biased (let alone Fiona re Labour!) as I enjoyed Newsnight very much with Emily M. Now I just shout at the TV when VD interrupts. So yeah, maybe she is better on QT than she is on Newsnight.

I don’t think Fiona is all that bad. She definitely had a moment with Stuart Rose though. Maybe she was lamenting the state of M&S since he left…

Doingmybest12 · 04/11/2022 02:18

Going against the grain, I quite like her on QT. Don't like her reading the news when she seems to act out the emotion we should feel for each news story. Only issue I had tonight was when she went to the audience before asking the female panelist about the football, she looked just about to speak, may have just been an error.

TooBigForMyBoots · 04/11/2022 02:26

I like her.

I'll get me coat.Blush

EstellaRijnveld · 04/11/2022 05:30

No harm in writing to the beeb to complain about her bias & unprofessional presentation skills. She should stick to just reading the news where she can't interrupt. Some people don't have the skills to be a presenter and discussion facilitator. Fiona Bruce is one of them.

LionsandLambs · 04/11/2022 06:05

I agree. Emma Barnett would be brilliant, I remember when she covered the Andrew Marr show and she was 100 x better than AM.

Bramblejoos · 04/11/2022 06:31

I no longer listen to q Time because it was just a sounding board for MPs to blab their parties policies - whereas the people who are interesting business people, legal, banks, didn't get a proper look in, but I notice on the radio that the Labour MPs just want to rant about how bad the Tories are instead of stating what they would do.
A good example is the blasting they gave the Cons over sending immigrants to Rwanda - that didn't fully come about, possibly still in the pipeline - now they are ranting because they are not dealing with the immigrants - can't have it both ways and don't say what they would do.

Iwanttoslowdown · 04/11/2022 10:39

Yes this is interesting because it’s a better programme when its actually being Chaired rather than a journalistic approach where folks keep interrupting.

The programme is all about the direct dialogue between the audience and the panel but if the Chairperson keeps gatekeeping and directing the conversation - like Fiona Bruce - it just gets so frustrating.

I’m not going to watch it again.

QT has always been about a question and then the panelists answers to that question. I actually think she invites more audience participation than previous chair people but then goes back to the original question which is the whole premise. I think she does a good job.
