Writing some text for post to show up.
I don't personally own one , but should imagine some mumsnetters do . Check out the warning to see if your model is affected.

I wonder what's happened to make them think that's needed.

It's not normal to close the door on a grill unless it's within a multi function oven.

flapjackfairy · 03/11/2022 22:16

I have a belling range and the grill won't work with the door shut so surprised other models do . I assume it is a safety feature to prevent the glass shattering in the door as grill gets v v hot.

flapjackfairy · 03/11/2022 22:17

Though my grill is electric! Just realised this is about gas grill !

Hoardasurass · 03/11/2022 22:23

The grill has a sort of catch so the door is mostly closed when you're grilling. Other similar types of gas grills have been found to produce carbon monoxide when used in this way so I would assume that it's something similar

RedRiverShore2 · 03/11/2022 22:24

I have the electric slimmer version and you can use the grill bit as a second oven so have the door closed, maybe they mean don't use the grill as an oven with the door shut on the gas ones. I alway have the grill door open for grilling, the grill handle sticks out anyway.

lljkk · 03/11/2022 22:59

my electric grill had same safety rule, only operate with door open.

Perfectly normal for grills
