DLA for Adhd/Asd?

Is this standard? I’ve been advised by the hospital to claim it, but just going through the questions and I feel a bit like a fraud when there are questions like Can your child walk, etc

although I am absolutely exhausted dealing with
the constant organising I have to do for him. He can’t do anything without me,

DLA is dependent on need, not diagnosis. If the hospital is suggesting if than your child is likely to be severe enough to warrant it. Just remember to fill in the form as if it's your child's worst day, not best.

DLA is dependent on need and not related to specific conditions. There is a mobility component and a care component so don’t be put off completing the form just because you’re not eligible for one element. There is a knack to completing the forms to score properly against the criteria. May be worthwhile asking someone like your local CAB to help fill them in - I used to do this as a volunteer and got lots of training on what the criteria are which meant I knew what questions to ask (not suggesting you’re not capable, just that a lot of people who are eligible get rejected on the first attempt). I’d also perhaps keep a log for a week or so if all the extra care you have to give as opposed to a child of his age without the condition as you will probably find it’s a lot more than you would estimate it to be.
