DC needs braces and has the option of a long wait for an orthodontist nearby or a short wait for one 2 hours away.

How far have you had to travel and for how many appointments?

DC1 5 minutes drive away. Been every 6 weeks for 3.5 years so far.

DC2 our local one won't see them as it's too complex a case. We have to go 30 minutes drive away. Not great with being in Year 13.

Every 6 weeks for 3.5 years.

The 2 hour journey (4 hour round trip) is seeming more and more ridiculous

3.5 year wait here for NHS but dentist wouldn’t refer till DS was 13. It’s getting worse every year and we didn’t want to risk him still having treatment and having to return from uni for it! We have had to go private, would have taken a two hour drive over a 5k bill!
