Feeling of zoning out, especially at work

This has happened to me for a while but has got so much worse! It happens especially when I need to concentrate and focus. It's like I zone out, my head is foggy and nothing is going in. Can't tell if it's anxiety, laziness, hormones or what but it's really messing me up. Does anybody recognise this?

Boredom? Menopause brain fog?

Asterope · 02/11/2022 22:05

God, I think it's both

Is the solution HRT? I've been looking into supplements for brain fog but it's hard to know which to choose

I would suggest you pop along to your GP. They can do blood tests to either confirm or rule out things like menopause, and then figure it out from there.

Depending on the GP you might have to be direct about what you want “I have been feeling quite zoned out and think it might be menopause. I would like a blood test to check hormone levels please, and then an appointment to discuss.”

That's good advice, thank you. I think I'm always wary because whenever I've had bloods done for hormones in the past they've not shown much despite the fact I have symptoms. They said it depends what day in your cycle you get them taken on.

And, this might be a stupid question, but if I took HRT and I didn't need it would it be harmful?
