DBS process and health questionnaire - healthcare assistant mental health

I have a dbs certificate from my adult nursing course that I have interrupted from and It is registered on the update service. It was a go to the post office with your documents kind of thing and your application will be countersigned by our company and we received the tracking reference. So mine was straight forward with no delays. And the health questionnaire was the bog standard occupational health one.

However, I have an offer for a mental health HCA job conditional on the pre-employment checks. It’s a Priory Group hospital. This one is paid by the employer and they countersign the documents themselves before sending off to DBS and admin had taken copies of my ID. So I’m assuming HR get in touch with a reference number to track or do they just get in touch when it’s been completed?

My question is if my DBS was to take a while, could they rely on my certificate that is on the update service and is only a year old as I have proof that I am cleared to be around vulnerable people anyway. Has that been anyone’s experience?

Also, what is the health questionnaire? Is it the same as the NHS occupational health one or do they have their way of doing things?
