I started my role just over a year ago as part of a cohort of 5. I've always been told I'm doing well by my manager. In my industry, people in my role tend to get promoted roughly once a year.
I found out today that all 4 of the people I started working with have been promoted up a band. I was given a pay rise recently, so I'm wondering if I was given that rather than a promotion? I had to have some adjustments made to my role recently, so I know that's why I didn't get promoted but it still stings. My manager has said in the past that he doesn't want me to feel that my adjustments are going to affect my career progression, and he said that the senior leadership team are keen to support me in this role and adapting my career progression to reflect the adjustments.
I feel like I want to somehow bring this up in my end of year review, but I'm not sure how. I'm hugely appreciative of the pay rise and the adjustments they have made and how flexible my employer has been. I guess I just would like to know what their expectations are and whether it's possible for me to progress with my adjustments in place.
Does anyone have any advice or insight into this kind of thing? Thank you.
