Solo trip ?!

Hi everyone need some advice i have a partner that lives in a different country than me 10 hrs away on plane I also have a 1yr old not with my partner with my previous relationship I was suppose to travel to see him with my sister and my son a few weeks back however we all was
Unwell with a bad flu so had to cancel we are all recovered and i'm ready to book the flights again however my sister wouldn't be able to make it because of work so it'll just be me and my son
but my mums and Aunty's saying I shouldn't go to a different country by myself with my son because anything could happen which is the truth but I just feel like she doesn't want me to go see him but just making up all these excuses and trying to make her friends convince to stay as well

I don't know what to do I am 28yrs old so i'm a adult my partner feels like they don't like him bare in mind I've known my partner for 11 yrs

Any advice pls ? X

I really want to go to see him but now they are scaring me and filling my head with all these things saying I need someone with me blah blah blah

What country is it that your partner lives in?

what country, how long have you been together? have you actually met him in real life
they could be concerned or controlling depending on the details

All good questions that would defintiely determine how I would respond to the OP.

He lives in Jamaica and he's the same age as me yes ive seen him many times as I go out there a lot was there in may with my family I literally known him for so long Bec i'm always going on holiday there but since I broke up with my sons dad we thought it was best to give things ago tbh ive literally known him since I was 10 tbh and yes my family do know him

are you staying with him, or in a hotel, how long are you going for
when did you start a relationship, how many times have you seen him since being in the relationship

I'm going for 2 weeks and i'm staying one week in a hotel the other week i'm staying at my mums house she brought out there

I haven't gotten to see him yet since being together as I've had a lot of things to do so now i'm free I can go

But we talk everyday on the phone

My family is basically saying if I was going by myself without my son it's more easier because if anything happens I could easily jump around but with a toddler it's harder

i can see why they are being cautious, talking on the phone isnt that same as being with that person and although you know him all these years again its not the same
if you do go make sure you have backup plans if it all goes to shit

@chipsandpeas yea I do understand however I've been with him in Jamaica for 6 months one time when I was there for work

So it's not like it's been a online relationship I've been with him in person also
