Break / holiday recommendations this winter with 2yo

Has anyone got any recommendations for a wintery / Christmassy mini-break with toddler?

We never managed a holiday over the summer due to family issues and now we have a little bit of savings so thinking about booking something - but no clue where to go. Just wondering what could work around this time of year / December for DH and me with our two year old.

We could wait till next summer but we've had a tough few months and feel in need of a bit of a break / change of scenery / adventure.

Could be UK or abroad. Perhaps a long weekend or up to a week. Any ideas welcome!

I don't think Tenerife type thing is what we're after. I think we are looking for something Wintery / or Christmassy so Europe or UK I guess.

Ribby hall? We’re going the week before Christmas and they have pantomimes, things for the kids etc and you can meet Santa if you want, or don’t if you’re not too fussed?

Forest holidays lodge somewhere near a chrismassy type town to explore? X

@Howmanysleepsnow Strasbourg is a nice idea. We've been to Bruges pre DC at Xmas and it was lovely, but never been to Strasbourg. Have you been to Strasbourg with a toddler?

I haven’t, but the pictures of the Christmas markets look like there’s something for everyone!
