Do you ever feel disappointed with your kids and blame yourself?

This isn't major stuff. It's just 2 teenagers and both of them lacking any motivation to do anything other than sleep!
Well one wakes up to go out with friends and the other wakes up to play computer games all night.
They aren't rude or nasty, school say they both v polite and well behaved.

I'm just so disappointed that they have no motivation for study or getting a job?

I feel like all my friends kids are straight A students, super sporty with part time jobs and healthy social life.

I have been a v relaxed mum and we don't do routines and never have but we have all said we happy that way and we are close and have a laugh. I'm now blaming myself and thinking I messed up.

Suppose I'm just looking for reasurrance that other people feel disappointed with their teens and /or its a stage? (Is it still a stage at 18?)

Hey don't worry OP. I was like this as a teen and then just rocketed in my early 20s and became hugely focused. I'm so glad I had a sloth like phase in my teens as when I emerged I had tons of energy.
