We have a lot of pumpkin and I hate wasting food. I've roasted about 3kg today and will turn it into soup, a pumpkin pie and some dog food.

Does anyone have any other ideas? I still have about 5kg of pumpkin to go!

Carving pumpkins taste like cotton wool. I really wouldn’t bother unless they are ‘eaters’. If you have carvers to get rid of the local wildlife sanctuaries take them here.

We've got some small "eaters" and we're thinking of roast pumpkin. Maybe soup..
But our favourite is roasting the seeds!

Carvers are ok with lots of spices added though. Appreciate they're not properly flavoursome but better than wasting it if it can be mixed into pasta or scones...

I'm planning on pickling mine, using this recipe from BBC Good Food.

🤷🏻‍♀️as you wish. Ours is going to the sanctuary so won’t be wasted.

This Jamie Oliver recipe is written for butternut squash but works with pumpkin as long as it isn’t too watery:

@BretonBlue ooh that looks nice AND doesn't involve cooking the pumpkin - win!
