Dehumidifiers

Wondering if it is worth investing in one as we live in a house with no outside space and it’s taking me forever to dry the washing. My bedroom gets quite damp on one wall in the winter too.
Ive looked at the Dimplex 20L as I can’t afford the initial outlay so can pick that up with my catalogue.

Look at working out how much per hour it would cost you to run. Always have windows closed when running it (so you aren’t sucking damp in from outside) and make sure you don’t have any glasses of water/cups of tea around, you don’t want to be paying running costs for sucking liquid out of a cup!

It does dry washing quickly and dry air does heat quicker so if it stops your wall feeling damp it will be warmer all round but some can cost a bit to run so do check. Have you had a look at why the wall gets damp? It might be worth trying to get that resolved.

We have porch 0.5l dehumidifiers if you can find those, cheap and we’ve had ours years! Don’t cost much to run and dry washing so much quicker

Yes, it’s awesome for drying laundry (and filtering out smells!) but make sure you get one that is designed for UK climate, some of then designed for very humid countries like Korea Hong Kong etc don’t work properly in UK.

The damp wall is out of our control unfortunately, poorly built apartment that we rent.
will look at the running costs.
great tips about the liquids; I would never have thought of that!
