Is £30 OK

A man I know through a hobby but wouldn't call a friend has set himself up as a handyman. He did quite a big job for me (with a proper invoice), well and at a fair price so I called him when I had another more odd job that needed doing.

He came round and did a temporary repair, initially said no charge, but then said "just give me a drink. I sent £30.

The temporary repair didn't hold up long and he's now been round and done the job properly.

He's said the original £30 is plenty for both visits, including the bits he had to buy which he says we're £2!

He wasn't here long either time, maybe 30/40mmins in total, including a chat, it can't be OK? But if he's saying it is...

It's hard to find someone to do little jobs, so I want to keep him sweet!

Maybe just get him some nice choc/wine for Xmas?

Do you know what he drinks? If so then maybe drop him a bottle of wine, or case of beer and drop it off, saying it’s as a thank you for his work. I think you might make it awkward trying to give him extra cash. He’s obviously happy with what you paid so far.

Can’t go wrong with bottle of red imo
