Latitude with a 10 year old

I am thinking of taking my DS (who will be 10) to latitude next year. He’s never been to a festival (I’ve only been to one) and I really want to take him to one.

What are people’s experiences of it? It will just be me and him, DP has been to latitude twice but thinks the line up is weak for next year so he’s not up for it which is fine. Has anyone got any tips/opinions etc? Thanks

I’ve gone to loads of festivals with my child since he was 2 years old. On my own or with friends. It’s fine. I would take breakfast stuff like bars etc and snacks but buy the rest of your food there, it’s more expensive but saves you lugging it all.

Pack separate bags and leave some in the car just in case the weather is appalling and you go through loads of clothes.
Warm clothes and something to sit on for at night, my son would get tired and not want to stand all night.

Its great fun.

I took my son to Victorious this summer. He was two so I had a pushchair for him and a full lunchbox and drinks. I'm local so I took him home for the evening and went back in. But at 10 a couple of late nights will be fine I'm sure. Go prepared with clothes, shoes and snacks and a decent water bottle. If he's a "young" 10 maybe look at a festival trolley. Loads of people seem to use them to for all sorts. But he could at least sit down if it was sturdy enough. Also a picnic blanket and nice big warm hoody for the evening.
