Printer ink subscription service

Can someone recommend one. I don’t use the printer much but every bloody time I go to use it the ink has dried up!
So I end up going to Argos and spending £12. I’m sure there must be a better way.

It takes HP 305.

thanks

Hi. We use HP Instant Ink Service. It’s £2.99 per month for up to 50 pages which roll over. This is the cheapest package available. You link your printer so they know when you are running low and then send out new cartridges. It works for us as we don’t do a massive amount of printing Peace of mind really
Costs will vary if you print more

We got the instant ink with a new printer. We got it free for 6 months and could print 700 pages a month and then we downgraded to the 2.99 50 pages a month. It has to be switched on all the time as it monitors the ink and bizarrely if you cancel the ink subscription it renders the the remaining ink unusable.

It great really I don't know how we managed without a printer all these years as we had been relying on work printer.

It may be worth buying a new printer to get the 6 months free ink?

I don’t think I would get another one. There’s a ten pages a month subscription and that’s probably enough really for us, it’s literally a handful of papers a month, which is why buying new ink is so annoying.

I feel like we only use ours infrequently, but our ink doesn't dry up - could it be a fault with the printer?

mrsjimhopper · 31/10/2022 10:09

Ah so you use it so Infrequently the ink is drying up Rather than running out?

I'm not sure that an ink subscription would work as it monitors the ink levels not the quality of the ink? So you would Still have the same problem.

Maybe if you did a test page every week and remember you have to keep the printer on to monitor the ink levels.

Hp instant ink here too.

Wondered if a subscription service might remind me to use it more as well.

I don't think so as it only sends ink when it monitors the levels are low.
