Why won’t my yellow hose nozzle twist any more 😭

I’m getting grumpy, please help.

Usually you simply twist the yellow bit and the hose starts and you can twist it for a fine spray, full power etc.

It was working fine two hours ago.

Now it won’t budge, it’s stuck. The tap is fine, the hose is fine… why is it stuck?! 😭

It should twist at the pink line but it won’t budge.

I’ve disconnected it at the blue line and even separated from the hose it won’t budge.

it was working absolutely fine earlier.

Could be gunged up with limescale that loosened and then clumped, IYSWIM. Was it grating a bit before? If it is that, soaking (submersing) it in vinegar for a few hours will un-gunge it.

Probably got a bit of grime/grit/soil/ limescale stuck in the thread. Or has just decided it would be an inconvenient time to die.

It looks more mechanical given your subsequent posts.
But limescale was the only thing that came to mind at first.

You've made the spider web cradle for all the little babies get wet. You now have gloopy sticky cotton wool there*

*or more likely grit. Soak it in hot water, twist, more soak. You need hot to make the plastic expand a little. Or it could be disintegrating from the hot weather we had this year.
