Miele or something else?

We have renovated a derelict property and need appliances- kitchen/laundry- everything! The choice is overwhelming. I've read such good things about Miele. Some have said the basic range is fine. I don't think I'd use a wifi app to turn the dishwasher on nor some of the other fancy features.

Is there something you couldn't live without? Any features you don't use?

When we did our kitchen we had a fancy Miele coffee machine built in, it’s absolutely fabulous and gets used daily. It does take up an entire cupboards worth of space, but I wouldn’t be without it.

I love my Miele products! My washing machine is 16 and looks as good as when it was installe; d; tumble dryer is the same age and has had one small brush replaced as they do wear out; dishwasher is 15 but has had all new parts this year (everything has been replaced due to a failed washer but done on a fixed price callout which saved about £1k in parts); I have a self cleaning oven and a Miele hoover! When my hob needs to be replaced I will get a Miele.

They are expensive but come with long guarantees (10 years on the washing machine) and if there is a problem their service is fantastic.

I have two Miele products, washing machine and tumble dryer. Previously I’ve had Bosch, Zanussi and Hotpoint. IMO it’s worth the extra money. They have been excellent. I also have 10 year guarantees on both, they are now five years old.

We did a renovation 2 years ago and my DP
is into gadgets in a huge way! We had to have Wi-Fi enabled everything/plus appliances that did all sorts of fancy things (this is a coming from a man who doesn’t do a thing around the house). In the time I’ve had these super duper appliances I still use them like conventional models. Occasionally set the timer on the dishwasher but that’s about it.

I like Bosch and Siemens.

My Miele washing machine gave up last week after over 20 years of uninterrupted service. Have replaced with a Miele - love it. I have tried the wifi app, but since I'm next to the machine when I'm putting in a load, I don't really need to be able to programme remotely. It does notify me when it's ready to empty.

Miele have an outlet in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. There is a showroom there too, where you can actually try out the appliances and get demonstrations of their features. We caved in recently and finally got a Miele washing machine from the outlet, having had 3 Hotpoints in the last 4 years and ALL have broken! (Hotpoint replced the first under warranty but wouldn’t replace the replacement or the replacement aftrer that). It’s a basic model, W1 Excellence, with touchscreen and it’s easy to use. Very very quiet and has a time delay so you can wash overnight and then take the washing out in the morning. It has washes from 20 mins to 3 hours so quite versatile. As it was from the outlet it was about £300 less than the new one. It was immaculate and seemed to have not been used. When we went to look round they have all sorts of appliances so have our eye on a fridge freezer next to replace our, you guessed it, Hotpoint one! They publish an up to date list on their website for the outlet goods so you might get a better deal if buying two or more together (it’s always worth asking). And it’s all guaranteed.

Went to buy a Miele, got chatting to the AEG rep and was persuaded. Have never looked back. Fab appliances.
