Do you prefer online or in store shopping?

I’ve been having the worst luck in store shopping, everything seems picked over or they just don’t have much to choose from and it got me thinking that I really should gravitate towards online shopping more. I think I liked the idea of getting out of the house, as well as seeing and feeling actual clothing pieces, but it also can be so draining, when stores don’t have what you’re looking for.

Some positives to online shopping are that you don’t have to deal with grumpy or pushy sales associates, you save so much time, and there seems to be more variety online then what you would find in store. Items they don’t carry in store, online only deals, etc. Curious to know your thoughts on what you prefer!

I used to enjoy a foray into town to browse the shops, but so many have bitten the dust over the last few years. I am fed up of getting things online and finding out that the fabric is unpleasant or something else is wrong. Then there’s the hassle of taking or sending it back. I also get annoyed when some companies are tardy in providing a refund.

Of course, many shops don’t have changing rooms open any more either.

There is more variety online, it’s true.

online for me every time.

Online when home in UK, in store when visiting work headquarters in Milan!

I have to say I prefer online. You can try in the comfort of your own home and the courier will usually collect again.

I do feel guilty about not using the actual shops but it’s just such an exhausting day out now. Driving into the city, parking, walking for miles, crowds, they never have what you want, you have to queue everywhere, you have to buy a drink or something to keep you going, pay for parking… it’s exhausting.

Just got back from an absolutely packed town centre where every shop had a 20m queue, people pushing and shoving all over the place, street preachers yelling at me to accept Jesus, rowdy teenagers, and an inordinately high number of nutters for such a small town. Online shopping for me!

I prefer in store shopping for clothes. I like to be able to see what an item looks like and the size.

I used to like to shop in store when Debenhams was open but since it closed I now shop online

Brieeeeeeeee · 29/10/2022 20:55

I like both. Browsing is fun. Online is for if I know what I want.
