Posting here for traffic. Desperately need help.reassurance on a plumbing issue complicated by severe germophobia esp around toilets/plumbing PLEASE can someone help?

I know nothing about germophobia.

Germophobia fear of germs for me esp around plumbing stuff.

Neighbour tells me I'm leaking down to hers think I've figured out why (shower hose loosening with use I keep having to tighten it) but it may be from toilet which freaks me out.

How can we work out what the cause is?

Stop using the shower for 3 days and see if the leak stops.

Ask for the exact location of the damp patch and plot what's above it in your bathroom

If your shower is over the bath, prise of the bath panel and look for the leak. You will need a torch.

Clean thoroughly around your WC and blow talc off your hand. The next day any drips or runs will show as clean spots or streaks.

Any germs around your WC are likely to have come from your own body so you already have them.
