If I wasn't on Facebook I wouldn't have bought.....

I keep being advertised clothes from Bloomchic- some of which look very nice. But then I read some threads on here and the trustpilot reviews. 😡 It got me thinking about all the useless (but some good) shite that I've bought because I've been spammed on FB.

A debobbler machine thing (which is actually very effective)
An in car bottle holder extender thing.... which didn't fit my car (couldn't send it back)
Clothes from Eshakti (bloody amazing clothes though)
Under sink storage solution ... meh
A strainer that fits on the side of your pan which should "solve all your problems" but if you've got a pan load of pasta, all the pasta falls into the sink.
A hanger system that's meant to revolutionise your clothes storage. Meh.

I'm sure there are more. Any of you in the same predicament?

I've been tempted by so many but managed to resist all but a silicone broom, which is actually pretty good.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 29/10/2022 10:01

I did nearly fall for a totally fake website 'selling' clothes which were actually pics lifted from an Australian designer and the real cost was many times as much as the fake was asking. Luckily I did my research first.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 29/10/2022 10:03

Vegan trail bars (good though)
Disgusting fruit juice jellies
A microfibre towel with a cartoon world map and mountain biking trails printed on it
A collapsible fire pit (ace)
Felt pockets that tuck under my matttres and hang over the side of the bed to store books etc (ok)
An airfryer 2nd hand from Marketplace before they were trendy.
Ditto instant pot.
A selection of largely nasty tea bags

A bread maker and a karcher floor cleaner. Both secondhand and hardly used at bargain prices.

It's Mumsnet that has made me buy loads of other things!

notmyrealmoniker · 29/10/2022 10:06

Size 3 sandals from China that too 3 months to arrive and were too small for my size 3 feet.

SockQueen · 29/10/2022 10:30

Cheeky wipes & period pants - both pretty good.
Silicon toilet brush - £15 and completely pointless.

coffeeneeded · 29/10/2022 10:33

Oh yes. The ACV gummies that I religiously took for months believing they would "help".

A gazillion plants. Make up.

Myfriendthechocolatecake · 29/10/2022 10:37

A microwave toasted sandwich maker - which hasn’t arrived…

I'm trying so hard to resist a miracle blackhead removed atm, ads keep popping up on fb and I can't stop watching them

Allschoolsareartschools · 29/10/2022 14:13

Some wide plate hair straighteners, I thought I'd been silly but they arrived pretty quickly & they are REALLY good & massively cut down my straightening time.
I keep seeing the black head remover ad, it looks just a bit too good to be true but it's very satisfying!

Superb on stairs when you have multiple dogs.

The green blackhead removal thing does not work!

MrsFionaCharming · 29/10/2022 16:16

I got DH a scratchmap of Dartmoor from a targeted ad, which he loved.

anxiousatnight · 29/10/2022 16:41

Some magic mould remover stuff which is fantastic and has completely cleaned up my shower

Mumsnet has persuaded me to buy loads of things over the years

DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/10/2022 16:48

Il makiage foundation. Really cheap and nasty and crap. For £39. It didn’t suit my skin tone, nor did the second one they sent. The ads give me the rage now. It’s a scam.

ApolloandDaphne · 29/10/2022 16:54

Rosalique foundation to combat redness. It is fine but maybe a little too orange for me.

I bought this for the stairs. It’s is indeed very effective

Because I'm autistic and have autistic children, the Facebook algorithm has decided that I want things like fidget toys, chewelry and autism cures. thanks to the third thing, I now assume that everything advertised on Facebook is a scam so have saved myself all this!
