Nintendo switch for 8yr old?

Hi thinking about christmas present ideas for my 8yr old. She doesnt need anymore toys! I have an ipad that she uses for some games. Are the switches any good? She loves horses and I have seen a couple of horse games, we could also play it together.
Would you recommend?

Favourite consol in this house. DSs (10 and 6) play games together and with DH (and very occasionally me). We particularly like that it will link to a TV or can be handheld so comes away with us.

My dd got one at 8 and loves it. She has Animal Crossing and Minecraft. I think it’s worth the money,

Yes, I got DD one at that age. We arent computer console people ie not proper gamers and it's just the two of us. The switch is very sociable and lots of games you can just pick up and put down without getting too invested in. She liked animal crossing, Mario kart and the party games the most. There are also plenty that I don't mind playing and have often sat in the car whilst she's at a club playing tetris etc.
