So, we received an email telling us that the org now has White Ribbon accreditation - an organisation trying to prevent male violence against women and girls.
Part of the commitment means that employees are expected to sign up with White Ribbon and try and get 100 more people to join. Also to actively promote WR.
I’m happy to support and discuss if the subject comes up, but don’t feel comfortable to try and recruit others to sign up. Seems a bit like what Jehovah Witnesses try and do. Thought I’d ask here are get ideas and some understanding of how other employers approach this.
I believe that volunteers will be asked to walk to town on 25th Nov and give our balloons and white ribbons. There may also be a marquee and a laptop for passers-by to sign up on the spot. Not sure how I feel about this, so I’ll most likely wfh that day 😁. Please could you share your thoughts, comments and experience. It feels like a good initiative to support, but I’m a bit uncomfortable about it, but not sure why. Perhaps it’s because I’m an introvert?
