Baby blues - inevitable?

Hello, currently 4 days PP and bathing in the warm glow of FT motherhood to a gorgeous baby boy.

Saw the midwife yesterday, she said that by day 5, I will have the baby blues due to hormones. Milk has come in today so I’m just awaiting the inevitable I guess or could this simply be a self fulfilling prophecy and I might just escape the BBs if I’m lucky?

I didn't get a whiff of them with any of my 3 babies. Only the bliss.

I don't think it's necessarily inevitable but very very common. She may just be preparing you or letting you know so that you don't feel alone if it does happen?

Congratulations on your new baby ☺️

I wouldn’t say I was bathed in glorious newborn bliss, but I didn’t Dissolve into a puddle of tears and snot at every opportunity with any of my 4 babies. I had more tests with my last one as I think it was suddenly very real that she is the actual last baby, but not for very long.

I didn’t have any kind of baby blues. Quite the opposite and felt euphoric until they were around 13.
