Would you post on "the biggest group I'm on" on Facebook

Name changed regular round here but "slightly" embarrassing. I met the loveliest lady and her son in a line at a theme park today, we chatted away and have a lot in common. I would love to "reach out" and I'm thinking about posting on "the biggest group on Facebook". Is that really cringy?

Never mind cringy, this is incomprehensible.

XenoBitch · 28/10/2022 00:45

I think that if they had wanted to keep in touch, then they will have given you their contact details on the day you met them.

So you've never been in the moment and chatted away to someone, then "oh shit we need to get on the ride" oh I can't find them again!

no, that bit I got Grin

Do it. Life's too short. If she sees it and doesn't want to get in touch she doesn't have to

But op wanted to keep in touch and didn't give them her details either so that doesn't make sense.

Do it op what's the worst that could happen?

What's the biggest group on Facebook?

ComeonoverValerie · 28/10/2022 01:07

Yes, do it. Life's too short. X

What's the biggest group on Facebook?

Deepika Sharma, apparently, followed by Our Evergreen Bangladesh. Both way ahead of Make-up Artists...

I don't get it either. I'm assuming there is some hilarious reference I have missed.

Pixiedust1234 · 28/10/2022 01:12

Well the biggest group I'm on has 900 members, not all uk based. How many members are on yours (and what is it called?)

Based on the ‘theme park’ bit I would guess that it’s the group for Merlin pass holders, although I could be wrong.

I have seen people make posts like that before, no idea if they’re successful though. Personally I wouldn’t respond, but then again, I would probably avoid talking to strangers in the queue too.

Forestfever · 28/10/2022 01:57

Waiting to see your post on Family Lowdown group as the whole world seems to be on there! 😀

BobbyBobbyBobby · 28/10/2022 02:04

i can’t be the only one that says any old crap as small talk when I’m in a queue and know I will never see the person I’m talking to again.

AWholePatchOfPumpkins · 28/10/2022 02:10

I would find it odd if someone did that and definitely wouldn’t respond if I saw it. Years ago someone went to great lengths to contact me after we’d talked at an event. I thought it was really creepy. Sorry. 😬

CookPassBabtridge · 28/10/2022 15:50

Don't get the fb reference?
But life is short, no harm in trying but just don't be a staller and leave it alone of no response 😆
I was in hospital recently for an op and got on with one of my bed mates. When I left she was at the loo so didn't say goodbye but she found me on facebook a week later and I'm glad she did. It's the modern way of socialising/finding people.

Yep
Everyone starts posts on there with “this is the largest group I’m in”
They then post on here too and totally give away their real life name

You're not.

diamondpony80 · 28/10/2022 16:36

Cringey and stalkerish. If I meet someone I want to keep in contact with I would get their details at the time. I wouldn't like it if someone randomly posted on a FB group looking for me.
