What’s Christmassy in London?

Hi, I’m meeting an old friend in London this coming Sunday. We’d like to do something Christmassy, if possible, as part of the day. We’re not fussed as to what it is but something that’s got the atmosphere, lights etc! Is there anything like that yet in central London? TIA

Many of the lights are up (Regents Street/Oxford Street) however they are not lit yet.

The big department stores all have their Christmas sections open. Liberty is very festive, with music etc.

Not a lot of other Christmas stuff going on yet.

The Christmas Shop at Liberty

Christmas hasn’t really started in central London. I suppose the departments stores will have their Christmas sections open, but no lights yet.

bunnytailbreakfast · 27/10/2022 18:50

Covent Garden always feels festive at nighttime with the way it's lit up, even when it's not Christmas! Not sure about whether any Christmassy events are on yet though.

bunnytailbreakfast · 27/10/2022 18:51

Winter wonderland is on?

bunnytailbreakfast · 27/10/2022 18:51

Sorry !! No it isn't, my bad x

Winter wonderland is on?

No, we haven't even got to Halloween yet.

I think WW normally opens halfway through November.

CheezePleeze · 27/10/2022 18:53

Sorry, X posted.

workiskillingme · 27/10/2022 18:55

It's a big early?

workiskillingme · 27/10/2022 18:55

Bit

Bookishish · 27/10/2022 18:55

Liberty for the Christmas shop and having a general browse then walk down Regents Street to Piccadilly and have a look in Fortnums (always quite a Christmas vibe), then dinner at the Wolseley.

pimlicoanna · 27/10/2022 19:01

I can't say it's Christmassy yet. It's Halloweeny!

theDudesmummy · 27/10/2022 19:02

October is not Christmassy and nor should it be

Anonymouslyposting · 27/10/2022 19:05

It is October…

AriettyHomily · 27/10/2022 19:10

Too early

LondonLovie · 27/10/2022 19:12

Not a lot yet.. we are still in October in London too! Probably Liberty.. that's about it.. the lights aren't turned on yet that's mid November

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 27/10/2022 19:17

Too early but probably Covent garden is the most like that?

medianewbie · 27/10/2022 19:41

I have to be in London on 12 Nov.
Will there be any lights then please?
(sorry OP I expect you're too early tho)

OperaStation · 27/10/2022 20:07

It’s too early for anything Christmassy yet.

Twinklenoseblows · 27/10/2022 20:14

Oxford Street lights go on 2nd November I believe.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/10/2022 20:29

I might be chattin' shit but doesn't Harrods open their Christmas Emporium really early (like August )
